CG Robot Integration | Hybrid AI + VFX Workflow

This shot explores how AI-assisted tools and traditional VFX techniques can work together within a professional compositing pipeline, giving the artist greater creative control while improving efficiency and final results.

The robot began as an AI-generated concept image, which was then developed into a 3D model using Meshy AI. I cleaned and refined the generated mesh in Maya, then created the character animation using Mixamo.

For the compositing stage, I performed the initial cleanup using Nuke’s 3D system combined with ComfyUI, before integrating the CG robot into the live-action footage. The final stage included integration, look development, and color grading in Nuke, supported by a custom AI assistant that I am currently developing directly inside Nuke.

The goal of this project was to demonstrate how AI can complement, not replace, traditional VFX workflows, helping artists move faster, explore new possibilities, and achieve stronger results while maintaining creative and technical control throughout the process.
